For some couples, having a baby is the ultimate reward they can get out of marriage. Pro-creation is foremost in their minds such that when they find themselves in a situation that does not go according to their plans, either one of them becomes depressed, or worse, both start feeling negative about the marriage. Although infertility-caused depression is mostly associated with women, men also suffer from depression as not having a child connotes he is not manly enough to produce one. This type of depression, however, is not the same as the common depression syndrome that one usually experiences. This is more about a combination of innumerable emotions rolled into one: resentment, self-doubt, anger, jealousy, loneliness, and sadness, among others. In a society that defines family as a unit composed of parents and children, being in a childless "family" is sure to create chaos in "couple" relationships. Some women tend to distance themselves from their husbands or friends and would rather be alone; while some men start looking for happiness outside the bonds of marriage. Feelings of envy and anger generally increase when common friends gather and bring their kids to parties — thus, the inability to bear children is heightened. What makes matters worse is the expectation that the couple should start having a family. During these times, the woman feels the blame and starts feeling guilty for producing an offspring. When couples are able to conceive a baby, in some instances, a miscarriage happens and this adds to the depression of the couple. Worse, they start losing confidence and trust in the doctor. Right now, there are many infertility treatment methods available for couples. However, how to deal with this type of depression remains a big challenge. On the other, if couples stay positive and show their willingness to try coping with the situation, having a positive attitude will help them come up with solutions that can help address their issues. Acceptance is the first step. Accept that there is a problem and start finding possible solutions instead of wallowing in self-pity and self-doubt. Truth is, when a woman is depressed and does not generally feel good about herself, the more it will be difficult to conceive, unlike women who have a happy disposition, are emotionally prepared, and mentally strong. If couples are willing to undergo infertility treatments, then they have to ensure to be there for each other no matter what is the outcome. They may opt to join support groups or organizations that help childless couples understand their current state and, at the same time, educate them about treatment opportunities or parenting options, such as adoption. Definitely, being in the company of people who do not have their own children will help them cope with their depression better. Amy Marie Chan is an expert writer on baby-related subjects.

Imagine a moment in your life where you were the most anxious you have ever felt. Your stomach was in knots, your heart was racing and your palms were sweating. You felt like you would shake right out of your skin. It was almost an out of body experience as you felt this enormous sense of doom come over you. At that moment in time you probably would’ve taken any anxiety disorder drugs you could have found.

Unfortunately, this is exactly the problem with these types of drugs. People become completely dependent on these medications to mask their anxiety disorder symptoms. The sad part about that is that it doesn’t have to be that way.

Anyone who suffers from anxiety or panic attacks knows that relief is their greatest wish. There are so many different drugs that are available on the market today that it is staggering. If you go to your doctor and tell them that you’re anxious, they are likely to prescribe any one of a variety of anxiety disorder drugs.

The chemicals in these drugs have a calming effect on the brain. While that sounds like a very inviting substance to have in your cupboard, it can become an addictive spiral that the patient has a hard time escaping from in the end.

One problem is that most anxiety patients find that they need more and more of the drug for it to be effective. So while they might start on a lower dose of the medication, they often end up ramping upward until they are at the maximum dosage.

It’s very sad to think that some people are simply not functional without these types of medications. They may be put on an anti-anxiety medication such as Xanax or Ativan, or they might be put on a serotonin specific reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) such as Prozac.

While these drugs might have their place in society, it seems that they might be getting over-prescribed. Many times, anxiety disorders can be easily treated using a variety of natural methods including exercise and a change in eating habits.

Anxiety disorder drugs can be useful in situations where the patient is being sidelined in their life due to the overwhelming panic attacks they are having. However, they should be a short-term solution while the patient attempts to find a long-term fix for the problem.

Instead, many people are becoming addicted to these drugs which forever changes their life.

There are many, many reason why anxiety disorder drugs are not a long term solution.

I know obsessive compulsive anxiety disorders, social phobias or any generalized anxiety disorders can be masked with a simple prescription and the swallow of a pill.

I also know anxiety disorder drugs were not the answer for me. Check out http://www.anxietydisorderdrugs.com for more information.

When anxiety and depression seem to come from nowhere, last for weeks without relief, and get in the way of everyday activities, then we are not talking ordinary moods anymore; they are now illnesses. Anxiety and depressions are one of the most common mental illnesses in the world today.

There are times when we feel anxious and moody. So what? We all go through the same things from time to time, don’t we? Anxiety and depression are normal part of life. Who has not studied for an exam without having test anxiety, and then scored much higher for it? Anxiety can keep us alert. Depression, on the other hand, can slow us down, giving us time to reflect and recollect ourselves. In other words, anxiety and depression express moods that are familiar to everybody.

But, when anxiety and depression seem to come from nowhere, last for weeks without relief, and get in the way of everyday activities, then we are not talking ordinary moods anymore; they are now illnesses. Anxiety and depressions are one of the most common mental illnesses in the world today.

People with anxiety disorder may have several physical symptoms, like trembling, sweating, muscle aches, nausea, fatigue, palpitation, dry mouth, cold and clammy hands. Emotionally, they are apprehensive, irritable; they have the feeling of impending doom, and they are self-conscious- feeling like being watched and criticized, etc. Obviously, people with anxiety disorder are often left immobilized. Anxiety keeps them house-bound, away from people, not able to do normal and simple for fear of this or that. People experiencing anxiety symptoms should know that it is a common disorder and is very curable.
The anxiety symptoms that you may experience include:

Palpitations

Increased sweating

Shaking

Shortness of breath

Chest pain

Nausea or stomach discomfort

Feeling of light-headedness

A feeling of unreality

Feeling of being detached from oneself

Fear of losing control or going crazy

Fear of dying

Feeling of impending doom

Depression, on the other hand, is a serious medical condition that affects the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, one’s self concept, and the way one thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same as passing blue mood. It is not an indication of personal weakness or a state that can be willed or wished away. A person with depressive disorder usually can’t pull themselves together and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for weeks to years. The treatment involves medications and/or temporary psychotherapy, which can be more helpful with depression sufferer. The symptoms of depressions may include:

Persistent sad, anxious, or empty mood

Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism

Loss of interest in hobbies or activities that were once enjoyed, including sex

Guilty feelings, worthlessness, helplessness

Decreased energy, fatigue

Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions

Appetite and/or weight changes

Trouble sleeping or oversleeping, early morning awakening

Thoughts of death or suicide, or suicide attempts

Restlessness and irritability

Persistent physical symptoms such as headaches, digestive disorders, and chronic pain that does not respond to routine treatment.

Anxiety and depression are two different conditions, but they are the same in the sense of the intensity of how serious these conditions can be. They are among the most common and most treatable mental illnesses in the world.

Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress and it also helps you cope in tense situations.

Everyone knows what it feels like to be anxious- you feel butterflies in your stomach your actions become topsy-turvy, you can almost hear your heart beat right next to your ears, and you are sweating like you are jogging. These are what you go through usually if you have stage fright and you are required to speak in public, or during your first date (who knows when was that!). These, among other feelings (feelings of anxiety) are normal reactions to stress.

Anxiety stirs you up in action. It helps you deal with a tense situation like focusing on a speech that you are about to give, studying harder for an exam, or staying interesting on your first date to make it to the second, and all that. In general, it helps you deal with any situation that is normally terrifying, especially if you are doing it the first time. I, for one, have many times been in this kind of situation and I can tell you it is only passing. But, if it elevates to excessive, irrational fear of everyday situations, now it has become an immobilizing disorder.

Anxiety disorder can cause you to be filled with fearfulness and ambiguity which maybe felt briefly only. However some anxiety disorder last at least 6 months and has the tendency to get worse if not treated immediately. Anxiety disorders usually occur along with other psychological or physical sickness, including alcohol or drug abuse, which can actually worsen the situation.

If you think you have anxiety disorder, don’t hesitate to seek information about it and find treatment right away before it gets into you. There are effective therapies out there and recent research reveals new treatments that can help most people with this condition lead fruitful and fulfilling lives.

There are five major types of anxiety disorders; general anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panics disorder, posttraumatic disorder (PST), specific phobias, and social phobia or social anxiety disorder. Each of the anxiety disorder has different symptoms, but all the symptoms come together around excessive and irrational fear or dread.

Every normal thinking person is expected to feel anxious in certain areas of his/her life, especially when he/she feels out of control of a situation. There are many reasons that anxiety creeps to your life but if it triggers you to some positive action, then you are handling it the best way.

Stop worrying too much after you have done the best you can on any life situation or responsibility. Let things be, if things are meant to happen, they will happen. Enjoy life for there are many reasons to be happy, so why worry?
