Mainly Pleural Thickening is caused due to asbestos exposure. Actually as a result of asbestos exposure, the asbestos fibers cause a great damage to the sensitive tissues of lungs. This asbestos exposure can also result in a number of related diseases like fibrosis and lungs effusion. In case of lungs effusion, water is generally accumulated between the protective layers of lungs. If not diagnosed properly at initial stage, it can result in serious consequences.
