Having dandruff is no fun, plain and simple. There are no two ways around it. Dandruff is annoying, embarrassing and often times, even painful. If none of the over the counter dandruff products have worked well for you in the past, perhaps you should try some natural home remedies for dandruff. Searching on the web or in a local homeopathic store will give you a good idea at what things you can try at home to help cure those pesky flakes. Many things you may already have in your cabinets, refrigerator or cupboard! Many times, all you need is just a few days of these treatments to begin to see a dramatic decrease in your dandruff.

Increasing your vitamin intake may help with your dandruff. Taking extra doses of zinc as well as vitamins, A, B, C and E will decrease the flaking on your scalp. Something as simple as a hot steam bath can also ease the flaking on your head. Try wrapping your head in hot oil and wrap it in a damp towel to really moisturize your scalp. Leave it there for 10 minutes before rinsing. You can also try soaking lemon peels in coconut oil and rub it around your scalp nightly. After a week of trying this technique, you will be dandruff free!

If you do not want to try the oil treatment (some people claim it as too messy), there are several other remedies that you can try. Mix two tablespoons of fresh apple juice to warm water and gently massage into your scalp. It is important not to rub too hard in order to avoid irritating your scalp any worse. You can also try mixing beet juice or ginger juice with vinegar and it will give you good results. Another great remedy for dandruff is to massage your scalp with a mixture of olive oil and almond oil. After you begin to feel a slight “burn”, leave it on your scalp for an additional five minutes and rinse with warm water. Doing any of these many home remedies will help cure your dandruff for good!
