There is More Than One Remedy For Bacterial Vaginosis

If you are looking for an effective remedy for bacterial vaginosis (BV) then you may find that the simplest option for you is to apply regular yogurt that also contains lactobacillus. It is up to you whether you wish to insert the yogurt into the vagina directly and with the help of plastic applicators or whether you want to consume the yogurt orally. The end result will be that it will help to ensure that there are enough good bacteria in your system to put down the bad bacteria.
A second useful remedy for BV is applying acidophilus capsules or suppositories into the vagina ‘ again directly. Or, you may want to douche with a single teaspoon of the acidophilus along with a couple of cups of water. Again, the end result will be to restore the balance of good bacteria versus bad bacteria.
Using tea tree oil douches or suppositories is a third option and again you will need to apply some diluted quantity of tea tree oil in to the vagina and do so for as many as six weeks. Because of the antifungal nature of tea tree oil you can over a period of time find relief from bacterial vaginosis.
Grapefruit seed extracts too can help remedy the bacterial vaginosis condition and here too it is necessary to apply a douche of the extract (a teaspoon mixed with 2 cups of water). However, be sure that you do not apply this mixture directly to sensitive lining of the vagina as that can lead to experiencing allergic reactions.
Finally, you should also try using hydrogen peroxide and for this it is necessary to mix a quarter cup of three percent hydrogen peroxide with a couple of cups of water. Then it is just a question of douching with this mixture which will help in restoring the bacterial flora and also provide a better vaginal pH balance.
